|
|
| |
WHAT: |
For
the first time in World’s Strongest Man history,
a competitor will attempt to pull two full size
coach buses. Derek Poundstone of Connecticut, the
reigning 2008 Mohegan Sun Super Series Champion,
will attempt this historic feat of strength. |

|
WHO: |
Ranked
#1 in the world for strength, Derek Poundstone was
the second place finisher for the 2008 World’s
Strongest Man and is the favorite for this year’s
event. Poundstone hails from Waterbury, CT and is
also a police officer in Naugatuck, CT. |

|
|
| |
|
IN
DETAIL: |
Derek
Poundstone will attempt to break a world record
by pulling two full-size coach buses at the same
time. The buses weigh a combined 28 tons or 56,000
lbs, nearly double the weight that he previously
pulled in a 2008 competition. The enormous amount
of inertia that must be overcome to move this amount
of weight makes the attempt nearly impossible, but
who better to attempt it than the man most are already
calling the world's strongest man, Connecticut's
own Derek Poundstone! |
